Harith Fund Managers (Pty) Ltd and Harith General Partners Proprietary Limited (collectively referred to “Harith”) have noted the further and continued unsubstantiated allegations against Harith by UDM President Bantu Holomisa as he testified at the Commission of Inquiry into alleged improprieties at the Public Investment Corporation (PIC) (“PIC Commission”).
Harith has heard the submission by Mr Holomisa and will further review it once it becomes publicly available. Harith intends to apply to the PIC Commission to crossexamine Mr Holomisa. Some of these allegations were dealt with extensively during the High Court proceedings which Harith brought in July 2018 and was successful in interdicting Mr Holomisa from making the same defamatory allegations. Mr Holomisa made the same misleading and factually inaccurate statements which he failed to prove or provide evidence to support during High Court proceedings. Harith is disappointed by the statements made by Mr Holomisa. It was not forewarned of his submissions to the PIC Commission, as required in the Rules governing the proceedings of the PIC Inquiry. Harith believes that Mr Holomisa’s submissions to the PIC Commission have a negative impact on its reputation and it will take any and all legal steps to clear its name.
